Overview

AnalyGits ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that provides version control functionality for SAP Analytics Cloud. This privacy policy explains what data the Extension and this website access, how it's used, and how it's protected.

A. This Website

Hosting

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany.

When visiting the website, the hosting provider automatically collects information in server log files (e.g., IP address, browser type, access time). This is based on our legitimate interest in providing a technically error-free and secure website (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

A data processing agreement (DPA) has been concluded with IONOS in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

Web Analytics with Umami

This website uses Umami, a privacy-friendly web analytics solution. The instance is self-hosted.

Umami is characterized by:

  • No cookies
  • No storage of directly personal data
  • Full IP address anonymization
  • No cross-device tracking

Processing is based on our legitimate interest in statistically analyzing user behavior to optimize our web offering (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Only anonymized metrics are collected (e.g., pages visited, referrer, device type).

B. Browser Extension

Extension Data Access

The Extension accesses SAC story content when you explicitly request it by clicking "Fetch Story." This includes:

  • Story scripts (global variables, script objects, widget events)
  • Story metadata (name, description, page structure)
  • Story IDs visible in the URL

How it's used: This data is compared against your GitHub repository to show differences and enable version control operations.

Where it's stored: SAC story content is processed locally in your browser and transmitted only to your selected GitHub repository when you explicitly commit changes.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal information — We don't collect names, email addresses, or demographic data
  • Browsing history — We don't track which websites you visit
  • Analytics or telemetry — We don't send usage data to third-party analytics services
  • SAC credentials — We never access or store your SAP Analytics Cloud login credentials

Security

We implement multiple security measures:

  • HTTPS only — All API communications use TLS encryption
  • Token isolation — Session tokens are stored separately from persistent tokens
  • Minimal permissions — The Extension only requests necessary permissions
  • No remote code — All extension code runs locally

C. MCP Server (mcp.analygits.com)

The SAC Syntax Oracle MCP server provides SAP Analytics Cloud scripting documentation to AI assistants (e.g., Claude, Cursor).

Data Processing

When an AI assistant queries the MCP server:

  • The query text is processed to return relevant documentation
  • Standard server logging applies (see "Hosting" above)
  • No queries are stored permanently or used for training

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • No personal information from end users
  • No tracking or analytics on API requests
  • No authentication required

Your Rights

As a data subject, you have the right to:

  • Access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) or Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • Object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
